Map: 1:10,000 with 5m contours. The map includes Pine Forest, Tibradden Mountain, Cruagh Wood and a small additional area of Cruagh mountain. Coillte have “thinned” significant areas in the last year which has greatly increased the area of runnable forest although the resulting branches on the forest floor remain somewhat of a hindrance. The recent storms have felled many individual trees and there are also a few areas where groups of trees have fallen creating small areas of “windfell” where a slight detour will be preferable to the straight through option.
Maps are printed on A4 water-proof paper and will be un-bagged. Control descriptions are printed on the map and loose descriptions will be available at registration. These will be in IOF format except for the Yellow course which will have English descriptions
Road Crossings and ZIPIT: Brown and Blue courses will cross the Glencullen Road and runners need to take account of traffic. The roped off area under the ZIPIT high wire installation in Tibradden car park is out of bounds.
