This week’s Orienteering: September 2nd

This week sees the first Mountain Bike Orienteering event, at Djouce Woods on Saturday 6th, and Fingal’s second “Scatter” event, at Ardgillan, near Skerries. Further afield,  NWOC are running an NI Series event at Portstewart, Co. Derry, on a great sand dune area. There are also local events in Cork. See the IOA Fixtures list for details.

Saturday’s MTBO event starts between 12 and 1 pm (not 10-11 as previously advertised). There will be two courses: all you need is a reasonable mountain bike, a helmet and some way of carrying your map.  See Setanta Orienteers for details. The scatter event has a mass start at 12.00 midday. See Fingal Orienteers for details.

Our next events are on Setpember 27th (MTBO on Three Rock) and Sunday 28th (First Leinster League event on Three Rock). We’ll need halpers for these so please volunteer.
