3ROC News: February 2nd 2015
The Leinster League starts again this Sunday with DUO’s event at Djouce Woods, on a map borrowed from Setanta with a 3ROC planner, organiser and controller! Full details of the event, overlooking Powerscourt waterfall, should be on the IOA Forum and the DUO blog this week. The event is part of the DUO 40th Anniversary celebrations, which also include a fun relay at the Curragh on Saturday and a social evening on Saturday. See details here.
Saturday is a busy day, with another Dublin by Night event at Glendoo on the Featherbed, on the Dublin/Wicklow border. Start times 6 to 7 pm, two courses: the usual format. Numbers have been growing this year, with more then 60 at our event in the Phoenix Park and more than 50 at Bushy Park last weekend. (The original venue for Saturday’s event was to be Killiney Hill, but it’s changed, so don’t go there!)
The following weekend, Setanta have a local event at the Glen of the Downs on Sunday 15th.
Other news and reminders: The 3ROC AGM is on Friday 13th February at Ballinteer St John’s GAA club, where cheques will be presented to club members who ran for Ireland last year. Membership subscriptions are now due for 2015 and Gerry Cunningham will be sending you all new membership forms – please return them with your subscription.
Fitness training continues at Belfield on Monday and Thursday evening.
We’ll have samples of the new 3ROC fleece gilets/waistcoats at the AGM if you’d like to get one; we also have club soft-shell jackets and we hope to have the new O-tops available there too.
For juniors, there’s a training weekend in Limerick on February 28th/March 1st, which means you’ll miss our next event at St Catherine’s Park, Lucan, but that’s OK! There’s also a time trial for Juniors in the Phoenix Park on Saturday March 14th – you’ll get details from the IOA closer to the time.
Make a note of our next League event: Pine Forest on March 29th.
