3ROC News 19th April 2016
Well, the Leinster Championships are over – a lot of work went into the event over the past year and it paid off, with competitors challenged, close competition, good courses, a new map and perfect weather for runners and organisers alike. Thanks, everyone, and we hope you all enjoyed the day on Carrick Mountain.
The LOC2016 results are here. Once again, can we ask you to take a few minutes to fill in your actual route using Routegadget (go to the Results and follow the link from there) so we can enjoy all the action in the forest from the comfort of home! It’s really interesting for those of us who couldn’t run, particularly the planner and future course planners, to see what worked and what maybe didn’t.
You can see some photos of the event on the 3ROC Facebook page here.
There was a smaller number than usual of 3ROC members running, because we were all helping one way or another, so well done to our prizewinners Cuan Riordan (2nd M14), Eoin Riordan (1st M16), Colm Moran (2nd M21E), Brendan McGrath (3rd M65), Michael Butler (1st M75) and Vera Murtagh (1st W75).
Entry to the Irish Championships has closed and we have a number of people running – if you’d like to be on a club relay team please contact 3roc@orienteering.ie immediately to let us know, as entries for the relays close in a few days.
Finally, business as usual with fitness training on Monday and Thursday at Belfield. Our next event is the fourth in the Leinster MTBO series at Carrick on May 29th.
In the meantime, there’s GEN’s Leinster League event this Sunday (April 24th) at Brockagh. See more details here.
