Christmas Orienteering News
Happy Christmas, everyone! We hope you enjoy the festival and can come orienteering on Three Rock on St Stephen’s Day. This event has become part of the Christmas tradition for many regular, and many occasional orienteers, as a way of getting some fresh air and exercise in between all the eating and partying.
Remember that this year you can enter the event in advance at Fabian4.co.uk here. This will get you a cheaper entry fee and save waiting around to register on the day. There will also be priority starts for pre-entered people. Pre-entries close on Friday 22nd, but you can still enter on the day if you like. Start times are only from 10.30 to 12.00, remember. All the event information is here. You’ll get extra points as usual for running in fancy dress and there’ll be prizes for the best Senior and Junior outfits!
The recently-cancelled Trooperstown event (from December 10th) has been rescheduled for New Year’s Day, Monday 1st January.
Looking forward to 2018, our first event is the Phoenix Park night event, No. 1 in there Dublin by Night series, on Saturday 13th January.
In 2018 we’re also looking forward to our first M90 in the club, when our founder member Seán Rothery moves into that class on 1st January – your age class is determined by your age on December 31st of the year, so congratulations, Seán!
In the meantime, watch the Christmas Score Event information page here , enter in advance if you can, and have a Happy New Year!
