August Series a Success

Our four “Get lost in the Park” Tuesday evening events in August were a solid start to the season for the club and introduced lots of new people to orienteering. Welcome to our new members who signed up at the events and thanks to all the planners and helpers – particularly the control collectors who had to stay and tidy up after everyone else had gone! (Some controls on the last night had to be taken ib by torchlight). Thanks also to the volunteers who put controls out on the Tuesday afternoons.

Weren’t we lucky with the weather too! The numbers increased each week to a total on week 4 of about 120. On the last night we even had two people who tried the course on Segways! (They run Segway tours in the Docklands and in Phoenix Park – Brian Hollinshead says they’re great fun). Well done, everyone.
