Phoenix Park Orienteering: Three Days in August

We are running three orienteering events on Tuesday evenings in the Phoenix Park this month:

Tuesday 5th August at the Papal Cross

Tuiesday 12th at the Furry Glen

Tuesdauy 19th at the Magazine Fort

There will be two courses each time; start times 6.00 to 7.30; premarked maps, SportIdent timing.

The events are aimed at beginners but are also suitable for more experienced orienteers. They are part of the Dublin summer series, so if you do three events you get a T-shirt.

Helpers will be very welcome: the organisation will be low-key but we still need manpower, particularly for putting out and taking in controls.

And later … our next events are  mountain bike orienteering on Three Rock on Saturday 27th September and the first Leinster League event on Three Rock the next day, Sunday 28th. Justin May is planning the MTBO and Ger Butler is planning the League event. We’re revising and extending the map at the moment so be sure to come along. Helpers wwill also be needed on both days.

Meanwhile, good luck to the 3ROC competitors at the Karst Cup in Slovakia and the OO Cup in Slovenia this week and the forthcoming World University Championships in the Czech Republic.
