This weekend’s orienteering: Scarr back on again!
The 3rd race of the Campus Sprint series is in Trinity College on Saturday; start times 11 am to 1 pm. There’s a new Sprint-O map at 1:4000 scale and Conor Short is the course planner so it should be good. See full details of the event here.
The organisers would you like to pre-register, even if you don’t end up going along. There are two courses, of about 2.4 km and 1.5 km as the crow flies.
The CNOC event on Scarr postponed from last Sunday as the roads around the Sally and Wicklow Gaps were impassable, has been rescheduled for Sunday 3rd March when there was a vacancy in the calendar. Details of the event are here.
If you want something less demanding on Sunday you’ll have to go to the JFK Arboretum near New Ross for WatO’s South East League. It’s actually a lovely area to run in: very varied vegetation, as you’d expect in an arboretum, and a few undulations. With the N11/M11 from Dublin it’s very doable. Full fixtures details on the IOA web site, which is currently undergoing a revamp.
