This weekend’s orienteering – March 16-18
Sadly, not much on this weekend folks: the highlight is Kerry Orienteers’ Munster League event at Banna sand dunes, where Sir Roger Casement landed from a German U-Boat in April 1916. The area was used for an Irish Championships short race a few years ago and is worth going to if you’re in the south west. The orienteering is on Monday the 18th. Some details here.
The second Marlay Park free 5 km timed run is at 09.30 on Saturday. Details here.
If you want to head for the hills, theere’s a hill race at the Hellfire Club on Sunday at midday – see here, and the Inter-Colleges hill race is at Camaderry on Saturday.
If you’re in Dublin, you could do worse than run the St Patrick’s Festival 5 k race at the Mansion House at midday on Saturday (details here), or – better still – do the Festival Treasure Hunt on Monday, starting from 10 to 1 pm at the City Hall. It’s street-O really, but a lot of fun. See details here.
For details of all that’s going on see the St Patrick’s Festival web site here.
