This week’s orienteering – September 8th
Several 3Rockers took part in Setanta’s mountain bike orienteering at Djouce last Saturday – best result was Colm Moran’s 3rd place and a great result for M14 Cian May taking 6th place on the Long course. A great day for MTBO – sunny and mild. John McC got a puncture, costing maybe 10 minutes , and Mary O’Connell (without a bike) was fastest on the short course. The second event in the series is this Saturday at the Curragh. Note – start times are 10-11 am; two courses (16.9 and 7.4 km).. See http://www.cnoc.ie/ for details.
Meanwhile Mary O’Connell and John McCullough travel to Wales for the Veteran Home International, and at home the Fingal “scatter” series continues at 12.00 on Sunday in Swords. Details of these events are on the IOA website here.
Fitness training continues at Belfield on Monday and Thursday evenings, while Colleen Robinson’s Wednesday evening circuit training for orienteers has restarted in Stillorgan.
